Intelligent Speed Assist (ISA) to be mandatory.
The Intelligent Speed Assist systems flag up when you are speeding. In the UK the system warns you when you are speeding. In the EU, under new regulations starting from this month, all new cars have to have the systems which operate through sign recognition and navigation systems. In the EU the ISA systems can actually be used to slow cars down. At present these systems can be overridden by the driver.
A useful safety feature to help control vehicle speed, reduce noise and air pollution – but a little big brother like?
Technology will allow these systems to be controlled by geofencing too – this means that car speeds could be restricted within towns and cities.
